Using PowerPoint, a teacher creates a webquest to facilitate group learning. In the webquest, students divide into small groups, and each student in the group receives a specific goal. In PowerPoint, a teacher uses hyperlinks to link the students to certain websites to guide the learning. The webquest allows students to learn social skills as they work in groups, and it causes students to use higher level thinking to accomplish the goal or to answer the question of the webquest. Teachers use webquests to challenge students to use higher level thinking. My webquest focuses on the different political leaders in the three branches of government and how the leaders work together. My example is appropriate for use in a fourth grade classroom.
